TON COENEN, Chair (elected at the 2016 EuroNGOs AGM)

Executive Director, Rutgers, the Netherlands

Ton Coenen is the Executive Director of Rutgers, centre of expertise on SRHR in the Netherlands and operating in 18 countries. Ton holds Master degrees in Public Health and Public Management. Before starting at Rutgers he was the executive director of Aids Fonds and STI/AIDS Netherlands for 17 years and worked in public health before that. He has been involved in strengthening civil society in many ways – among others: as the co-chair to the EU civil society Forum on HIV/AIDS, as co-chair to HIV in Europe, Board member to Icaso, as Board member to the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

 

TANIA DETHLEFSEN, Chair (elected at the 2014 EuroNGOs AGM)

International Director, Danish Family Planning Association/ Sex & Samfund, Denmark

Tania Dethlefsen has been the International Director of the Danish Family Planning Association (DFPA) since 2008. She is in charge of all DFPA international activities including: programme cooperation with partners in East Africa and South Asia; international advocacy and communication; and international fundraising. Prior to this position, she has worked both as Board Member and Programme Officer in several Danish NGOs, including the Danish Refugee Council and the Danish National Youth Council. From 2004 to 2006, she worked at UNICEF as a Programme Manager on education in Bolivia. In 2002-2004 she was Associate Lecturer at the Copenhagen Business School. Dethlefsen has a double Master's degree in Social Psychology and Communication from the University of Roskilde. A Danish national, she speaks Danish, English and Spanish fluently.

DANIELA DRAGHICI (elected in 2018)

Board Member, SECS, Romania

Daniela Draghici, a EuroNGOs Steering Committee member for the third term, is an international advocacy consultant and trainer, certified by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with experience in Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Africa. For the past 20 years Daniela has been forging coalitions and partnerships, advocating with policymakers and training key civil society leaders in advocacy in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights. She conducts media advocacy training for young lawyers in CEE/CA on behalf of the Women’s Human Rights Training Institute. As a volunteer at European level, Daniela is an Advisory board member for ASTRA Network and a Regional Executive Committee member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation European Network (IPPF-EN).At national level she serves as board member for the Society for Education in Contraception and Sexuality, is a member of the Society for Feminist Analyses AnA, and has recently been elected vice chair for the Romanian Women’s Lobby, the Romanian chapter of the European Women’s Lobby. 

ANNIKA MALMBORG (elected at the 2015 EuroNGOs AGM)

Director International Programme, RFSU - Riksförbundet för sexuell upplysning, Sweden

Annika Malmborg has been the International Director of RFSU, the Swedish Association of Sexuality Education member of IPPF, since 2014. She is heading the International Department managing a team of 14 staff, who mobilise and drive for change for SRHR for all, through advancing global policy and through supporting to civil society organisations in over 13 countries in low- and middle-income countries. Prior to holding this position, she held the position as  Deputy International Programme Director and head of the Policy Advocacy unit at Plan Sweden for 5 years. She has also been the president of the Swedish NGO-platform of CONCORD, a position which she held for 2 years between 2012-14, and during 2014-15 she has been heading the national program directors network of CSO working within the development aid sector. Between 1991-2008 Annika was an employee of Save the Children Sweden were she held a number of different positions at the International Programme Department as well as the Secretary Generals office, working with child rights programming and monitoring of children's rights, grantsmanagment, planning, monitoring and evaluation of international programs, knowledge management, support to civil society and organizational development etc. Annika has a degree from Stockholm University in East Asian studies and have studied at University of New Mexico, USA. Swedish and American citizenship Annika speaks Swedish and English fluently.

KAMOMILLA ILMONEN (elected at the 2018 Inspire AGM)

Kamomilla Ilmonen

Development Policy Advisor, Väestöliitto, Finland

Kamomilla works for Väestöliitto, The Family Federation of Finland. She is one of the leading experts on SRHR and global development in Finland, thanks to her diverse experience working for UN Women, UNFPA and Kehys Ry, and her longstanding expertise in advocacy, communications, research and strategic planning. 

She joined the Inspire Steering Committee to help build a robust SRHR movement and partnership across the globe, to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights.

YESIM ERKAN (elected at the 2017 EuroNGOs AGM)

Advocacy Coordinator, Women for Women’s Human Rights – New Ways, Turkey

Yesim Erkan Yetiser has been the Advocacy Coordinator of Women for Women’s Human Rights  (WWHR) – New Ways since 2015, where she primarily focuses on national and international advocacy for gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, international treaties and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Before joining WWHR, she worked for TEMA Foundation, an NGO in the nature protection area, as the Director of International Relations. Yesim holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and bachelor’s degree in Communications. A Turkish national, she speaks Turkish and English fluently, and has an intermediate knowledge of French.

CAROLINE HICKSON (elected in 2018)

Regional Director, IPPF EN, Belgium

Caroline Hickson joined the International Planned Parenthood Federation as Director of its European Network in March 2016.  Caroline is originally from Ireland and has worked in the NGO sector for over 20 years in the USA, Ireland, the UK and Germany across a variety of sectors from health to international development and trade.  Before IPPF, she was Director of Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships at Fairtrade International in Germany.  Prior to this she worked for seven years as Director of Public Affairs and Fundraising at Concern Worldwide, Ireland’s largest INGO working in the international development and humanitarian sector.

MARIANNE HASLEGRAVE (elected at the 2017 EuroNGOs AGM)

Director, Commonwealth Medical Trust (Commat), UK

Marianne Haslegrave has been the Director of the Commonwealth Medical Trust (Commat) since 1995. Her work has focused primarily on the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action and the outcomes of the follow-up review conferences. Most recently she has concentrated particularly on sexual and reproductive health and rights in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Marianne has also served both as President of the British Federation of Women Graduates (BFWG) and the International Federation of University Women (IFUW). She has a MA in History, and lives in the United Kingdom.
