| 29-05-2016 | | Women Deliver 2016 - key insights | | | | In mid-May, heads of state and global leaders joined more than 5,000 SRHR advocates and experts for Women Deliver, the largest global gathering on health and rights of girls and women in over a decade. EuroNGOs and many of its members travelled to Copenhagen, Denmark, for the fourth edition of the Women Deliver Conference. With more than 200 sessions and side events on an overwhelming number of topics ranging from health, rights and gender equality to education and economic empowerment, it was a space for learning, exchange and inspiration. Here’s a look back by the secretariat on an intense 4 days, and a recap of some of the hot topics at this year’s Women Deliver. | | read more | | 31-05-2016 | | Update on Agenda 2030 | | | | After several revisions, a number of consultations and member states’ meetings, UN Member States met again on the 3rd of June to discuss the draft resolution on global follow-up and review. This time, delegates met in small groups, and the co-facilitators took the comments forward in a final draft, circulated in a ‘silent procedure’ earlier this week. According to the latest information, the silence was ‘broken’ by a Member State, and a formal communication will be shared today by the President of the General Assembly. | | read more |
